This year we will be providing “baskets” of food and gifts to 80 families.
As we have for the past few years, we will be including a combination of food items and gift cards. We are looking to gather the following food items: tuna, rice, cereal, peanut butter, soup, stuffing, dry gravy packets and instant mashed potatoes. Each family will receive grocery store gift cards for them to purchase the remainder of the items that would have been in the baskets. This will allow our families to purchase the items appropriate for their celebrations. We are looking for $10 gift cards to any of the following stores for groceries: PriceRite, Stop and Shop, Target and Walmart.
If you would like to donate a turkey for Christmas baskets, please get in touch with Phyllis Machledt.
We will be distributing a combination of toys and gift cards for children this year. We are looking for unwrapped gifts for children ages 0-11 and $10 gift cards to Target for children ages 12-18. (They will be combined so that each child receives $25 to purchase a gift).
As always, if you would rather make a monetary donation to the program, that would also be much appreciated. Checks should be made out to Golden Hill UMC with “Christmas Baskets” in the memo.
All donations are due into Golden Hill by Sunday, December 8.
Thank you all for supporting the Christmas basket program in whatever way you can.
